Bangor Coastal Challenge 2009 Route

This year the route is in a clockwise direction, heading south from Bangor to Donaghadee, Millisle, Ballywalter, Portaferry then back north along the coast of Strangford Lough. An interactive route map is available here.

The Bangor Coastal Challenge is a 60 mile sportive event, taking in a scenic route around the Ards Peninsula. Now in it’s 8th year, the 2009 event takes place on 21st June 2009.

I’ve entered the 2009 Coastal Challenge with a group of fellow amateur cyclists, as my first proper sportive ride. I’m told it’s a great event to be part of! Entries are now open, the entry fee is £20 with proceeds going to local charities.
