bangor coastal challenge 2011 announced

Hot on the heels of the 2011 Craigavon Cycle Trail, and my own 2011 Diary, entries have now opened for the 100Km 2011 Bangor Coastal Challenge organised by North Down Cycle Club.

Are you up for the challenge?

If you are, then welcome to the tenth year of our great cycle event, the most popular touring cycle event in the Northern Ireland calendar.

NDCC are proud to offer a scenic coastal route of 100km around the Ards Peninsula which has few inclines and takes a break in Portaferry for lunch. So whether you are a serious cyclist or a novice wanting to cycle the distance for the first time the NDCC Bangor Coastal Challenge is the event for you!

I missed the challenge in 2010 so I’m very keen to make it to this year’s.

The Bangor Coastal Challenge attracts a field of over 700 riders and is very well organised, with ample water stops, marshalls and mechanic services, backed up by police and motorcycle paramedics and ambulances. It’s a great day out and there’s a commemorative T-Shirt if you roll home in under 8 hours.

Get your entry in now at Entry Central, and follow @CoastalChalleng on Twitter for updates.

See you there!
