belfast cyclethon 2009

Belfast City Council have announced the Belfast 2009 Cyclethon event on their website:

19th September 2009

Family cycling event along routes including the Comber Greenway. Join in and help promote safe cycling. Take part in various activities en route.

Details are scant at present, but keep an eye on the council website for updates.

    Oh dear, I suppose we have to support and encourage it, but the details are very sparse considering it’s 12 days away. They usually organise and promote events very early. I wonder is this some last minute kick-back to the cycling community to say “look, we do support you”.

    I’m almost frightened to ask what the agenda is for organising this…

    When I Google ‘Belfast Cyclethon’, you are the only hit John. You’ll have to claim a chunk of the marketing budget.

    I’m not sure how long the Cyclethon has been on the events calendar, but it only popped up on the news releases today (7th September). I’ve emailed the council to ask for more details.
