Diabetes UK (Northern Ireland) are starting a new “bike club” in Belfast to help people get into cycling as an enjoyable way of getting some exercise.

Would you like to spend a few hours cycling the Lagan Towpath, exploring the Lagan Valley Regional Park and learn some basic bike maintenance skills? If so, come along to the new Diabetes UK Bike Club in May and June.

Cycling is a fun way to get your daily exercise and the Bike Club is being set up to get you all the basic skills you need. The Club will also provide opportunities to meet and chat with other people about bikes, exercise, diabetes or anything else. The Club is for children, the young at heart and families. Bikes can be hired if required.

The Club will meet for its first outing at the Diabetes UK offices in Newforge Lane in Belfast at 10:00am on Saturday 16th May 2009, and again on Saturday 20th June. For more details or to register your interest, please contact Iain Foster on 028 9066 6646 or email iain.foster@diabetes.org.uk
