It’s been a mixed bag, bike-wise recently.
I didn’t sign up for the inaugural Causeway Coast Sportive as I thought I wouldn’t be available that day, but as it turned out I could have gone. Bummer. Phil did the 126Km and reports it was a great route and a well organised event. It’s definitely one to make an effort for next year.
I’ve been working too hard again, but still managed to force myself out for a ride on Sunday. That didn’t go so well. I got about six or seven miles in then felt like throwing up and had to stop. Just too tired, I guess. It was a long six or seven miles back home again.
Then just a few days later I rode a 20 mile loop in very stormy conditions. On the (downhill) outward leg I was propelled by a massive tailwind, which of course I had to battle on the homeward leg. 25 minutes out, but more like 45 minutes back! Allowing for the conditions I felt fine and had clearly shaken off whatever was bugging me on Sunday.
Finally then, this Saturday I was signed up to do the Marie Curie Limavady / Roe Valley Cycle, but that’s not going to happen now for one reason and another. Let’s call the entrance fee my donation and leave it at that.
Let’s see what the next ride brings…
