Do you take your commute seriously, including warm up and warm down periods, proper clothes, equipment ant nutrition, or do you just jump on the bike in your work clothes and start pedalling?
Without thinking about it, I had myself figured for an easy going, laid back kind of guy who just hopped on the bike and went.
After a bit of a warm up in the house of course, then a slow start and end to the ride with some mild stretching when I get to work. Of course I’m pretty hungry after the cycle so I’ll have a decent breakfast of porridge with fruit and nuts to ensure I get the carbohydrate fuel and protein that I need. Naturally I drink plenty of water during the day to stay hydrated and I like to make sure I have a banana around an hour before I leave for home too so that I don’t run out of energy on the way. Then when I get home it’s more stretching and I try to get a protein / carbohydrate balanced meal as soon as possible.
Oh, hold on. Maybe I do take it pretty seriously after all!

“Do you take your commute seriously ?”
Only if I see someone to race :)
