ipod zombie poll result

by John Girvin | tagged: , , , | permalink

Following the recent complaints about cyclists riding while listening to music, cycling news site road.cc ran a poll asking what cyclists themselves thought about the issue. The results are now in.

Four options were given and 357 votes were cast. The results break down as follows:

  • 15% – It’s dangerous and should be illegal
  • 40% – It should be discouraged but not banned
  • 12% – It’s no more dangerous than a car stereo
  • 33% – It’s a red herring – there are much bigger problems out there

I voted with the majority on this, saying it should be discouraged (especially in traffic, I think) but not banned.
