long way commute 2010/06/02

It was such a beautifully sunny morning I just had to take the long way into Belfast, heading (roughly) for Ballycarry along the Old Carrick Road for a few miles before turning back for the city. I took a few snaps along the way.

Check out these and other photographs I’ve taken while out cycling around Belfast and Northern Ireland on my Bike Trips Flickr set.

It was 17-odd miles clocked up for the June 100 Challenge too. Tell me again why I’d want to sit in traffic for an hour on a day like this?

I can’t resist taking the long way too. I’m ready for a week of rain now though so i’m no longer tempted to add in extra miles and therefore have an extra hour or two in bed.
