Some more details of the Marie Curie Limavady Cycle have dropped into my inbox.

The Limavady Cycle starting and finishing at Roe Valley Country Park, is taking place on Saturday 24th September 2011 from 10am. There are two routes available to participants – a 50km and a “New” 80km Route. Both routes pass through the breathtaking countryside of the Roe Valley.

50km Route – Leaving and finishing at Roe Valley Country Park, participants will pass through Burnfoot and Gortnahey where they will take in spectacular views of the Binevenagh and Benbradagh Mountains, as well as the Sperrins and Lough Foyle.

80km route – This follows the 50km route as far the Terrydoo Rd, Limavady. The route then breaks off West and participants can enjoy a few challenging climbs towards Ringsend whilst taking in views of Cam and Gortnamoyagh Forest, before rejoining the 50km route.

If you own a bike, fancy a fun day out and a bit of a challenge the Limavady Cycle Challenge is just for you – participants must be aged 16 or over. You’ll have a great day out with friends and while you’re cycling you will be helping to make a real difference to the lives of cancer patients and their families.

All funds raised will help Marie Curie Cancer Care to provide high quality nursing care for cancer patients in the comfort of their own home. All care is provided free of charge.

If you fancy taking part in this great outdoors event please contact Gavin McGucken on 02882249888 or gavin.mcgucken@mariecurie.org.uk for further details.
