my first bike

Apart from a few breaks, I’ve been interested in cycling for most of my life. These images are frame captures from a home movie my parent’s shot on Super8 film back in July 1977, when I was aged 4, of me zipping about on a little tricycle.

The Super8 footage these images are taken from was first converted to DVD format, then to DivX (one pass constant quality mode with quantiser set to 1) and uploaded to YouTube. It’s one of a number of recordings like this taken of 1970′s and 1980′s Moorgate Street, Belfast, where I grew up.
