no promises

by John Girvin | tagged: | permalink

So, we’re back. I’ve been motivated by myself and a couple of others to restart this blog, but this time it’ll have to be a bit different.

Running Rain Miles had become too much of a time sink. The posts were getting too ranty, campaigny and newsy, and there are better blogs and sites out there for that sort of content. I can’t – and don’t want to – compete with the likes of BikeRadar and road.cc, for example. I’d also been putting myself under pressure to keep up a regular schedule of at least one new post a week and was struggling to find the time. Looking after the technical side of the site was a pain too.

But no more. This time it’s personal. And local, lightweight and low maintenance. Posts, schedules, design, functions and everything else will be trimmed with prejudice to suit this new philosophy.

I’d like it if you stuck around, but no promises. OK?
