renewing everyday cycling

by John Girvin | tagged: , , , | permalink

About a year ago, after a couple of near misses with pedestrians wandering blindly into the road, I joined Everyday Cycling to take advantage of their public liability insurance protection. The time has now come to renew my membership. You’d think that would be straightforward, wouldn’t you?

Everyday Cycling

Oh no.

Everyday Cycling has been subsumed into it’s parent organisation British Cycling and no longer has a website of its own. I’m not sure the new British Cycling website is quite finished though as it was difficult enough, even for this well seasoned web surfer, to find how to renew my Everyday Cycling membership. To start with there was quite a palaver involved in transferring my old Everyday Cycling website account to the new site. Then, a lot more clicking and exploring was required before I found how to renew my membership instead of joining British Cycling itself.

As it turns out, you can’t actually renew an Everyday Cycling membership online. Really. You need to call them on 01612742010 – on a telephone, using your words – and specifically ask for it. At least the cost has remained the same at £24 per year.

Sort it out, British Cycling.
